This is SMRI's first Race License School of the 2019 season. The purpose of this school is to prepare new Racers for their burgeoning career as motorcycle roadracers by teaching them basic track procedures, safety, and racecraft.
The school is broken into three sessions.
First, there is a Friday night classroom session where students are taught the basics of how to behave at the track, what to expect before, during, and after their races, and what to do when unforeseen things happen.
Next is a Saturday session combined with an SMRI track day. This session consists of classroom and on-track exercises to help riders become more comfortable as Racers, along with lots of track time during the track day.
Finally, there is a Mock Race to give students the feel of racing. This is followed by the students' first race in SMRI's two-heat Super Street race where they can actively compete against other Novice racers.
All of this is included in the $180 school fee.
