This year's Bobby J's Track Day drew nearly 50 participants making it the most well attended Bobby J's track day in the club's history!  The event started on time and had very few on-track incidents so all the riders got maximum time in the saddle.  The school group was quite robust and everyone seemed to learn a bit while having lots of fun.....a win-win situation for all!

Next month's date on July 16 is hosted by PJ's Motorcycles and tickets are already available through PJ's.  This event will also be part of the SMRI/ASMA North/South Challenge Cup series so we'll have lots of guests from Arroyo Seco to help us have a great weekend.  We plan a pot luck dinner that evening with refreshments by Santa Fe Brewing Company, so come out and camp at the track for a weekend of fast and fun.

SMRI's first track day of the 2016 season, hosted by Sandia BMW Motorcycles and Santa Fe BMW Motorcycles attracted 71 riders!  This is the best turn out we've had for several years and we hope it is a sign of things to come for this season.

A special thanks to the fine folks at both dealerships, all the riders who came out to ride, all our Corner Marshals, Officers, and volunteers who made this happen, and to the Sandia Motorsports Park staff who prepared the facility for the event.  Kudos to all of you!!!

We look forward to seeing all of you and more at the May 7th track day sponsored by Moto-Authority.  Tickets are available at Moto-Authority for $100 until May 6th or at the track for an extra $25 on the 7th.

That's right folks.  It's almost time.  In honor of the upcoming racing season I thought I might post a pic to get everyone "aroused" for the March race day at Arroyo Seco.  Only a week to go before we kick the tires and light the fires!

The 2015 SMRI Banquet went off without a hitch and everyone appeared to have an excellent time.  The food at El Pinto was perfect as usual, and the company was second to none.  I thought I'd drop a few pictures on here to share the event with those who couldn't make it, and if you have a pic or two you'd like added feel free to send them to me at

Special thanks go out to SMRI Timing & Scoring officer Rylee Hahn and SMRI Treasurer Katrina D'Aloia for putting this shindig together.  Thanks, also, to all our sponsors who came out to show support for SMRI heading into the 2016 season including Nico at Los Lunas Motorsports, Steve at Moto-Authority, Scott and Stuart at Desert Desmo LLC, Demo at Evangelo's Cocktail Lounge, living legend Hurley Wilvert of HTW Racing, Frances and Marc from OCD Custom Cycles & Repair, Matt from The Desert Sky Ranch LLC, Yolanda from Western States Fire Protection, Jaime Smith from Bifocal Films, CJ Rodden from Law Tigers (who is going to join us racing next year!!!), Alan from Santa Fe Two Way, and Brian from Speedin' Motorsports.

Unlimited Grand Prix Awards given to Kevin Gibson (1), Dave Dikitolia (2), Lance Echols (4), Ken Kilness (5), Kimberly Prichard (7), Greg Sterosky (8), and Scott Cloninger (9).

The "Kraut Racing Team" shows of its hardware.  Frances Sayre (left), Marc Beyer (center left), Lance Echols (center right), and Jaime Smith (right) all took home hardware including the first ever "Most Improved" award shared by Echols and Smith!

Kimberly Prichard (left) and Jaime Smith (right) do their best to kill Scott Cloninger while Lance Echols watches.  They were nearly successful and it took Scott several enchiladas to recover.
